SD Sonic the Hedgehog Plush, aka the “Animal Crossing” plush

Just so it’s officially on the record: Yes, I’m aware this doll is not actually from Animal Crossing. It’s just a nickname I give it because of the proportions and the way the limbs are made. I know there are some people that’ll only read the title line and jump to conclusions, so I decided to put that right up front.

In any case, when I saw this doll for the first time, I actually had thought it was fan-made instead of officially licensed. I happened to show the image to some of my friends once, and one day, a great pal of mine we call Pongo surprised me with it as a random gift! That was when I discovered the tag, which says it was produced by a company called FW in 2009, and it’s made in China.

However, the plot thickens, because the other side of the tag does not have Sonic’s name; instead, it has the logo for Detective Conan, aka Case Closed in the United States. I was only able to read the tag at a glance because that’s another series that I happen to be a fan of. For this reason, I’m still not all that sure if this is an officially licensed product that happened to receive the wrong tag, or if it is just a well-made unlicensed fan product. If anyone has any extra information on this, please let me know, because I’m very curious!
